The Pulse-Eight Modular Matrix series is designed exclusively for the custom installer, their powerful 340Mhz backplane supports the latest video standards in the market today, providing you with instant access to all of your connected source devices in stunning Ultra HD 4K, 1080p or 3D. This powerhouse helps to create a "just works" solution, from dynamically generating EDIDs (to ensure the best video quality to every TV) right through to handling software updates for the HDBaseT link. With one goal in mind. Giving you the best possible video distribution system in the world.


All of the input and outputs are interchangeable and upgradable. Modules can support HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2, 100m and 70m HDBaseT input and outputs. With the opportunity to stack two systems together, you can also create larger matrixes. If you require a custom unit, Pulse-Eight provide modules for every requirement. The Modular Matrix series of chassis are ideal if you or your customer needs to keep pace with changing technologies and job specifications are constantly changing. Our portfolio of modules include HDBaseT, HDMI (1.4 and 2.0a), Display Port and DVI input and output modules. Despite the fact that you can have a custom build for certain projects (see pricelist for base chasis and custom input/output module details and pricing), the team at Pulse-Eight have put together 4 complete kits that span 6x6 and 8x8 combinations, with both HDBaseT Lite (Class B) and full HDBaseT (Class A) capability.


The P8-MM88-8H8P-KIT uses their 2U modular P8-MM88 matrix chassis, and comes fully populated with 3 x HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2 and 5 x HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 1.4 input modules for your chosen HD or 4K/UHD input sources (inputs 6,7 & 8 are HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2). On the output side of the matrix you have 8 x HDBaseT Class A Outputs ('full' HDBaseT) that when used in conjunction with the 8 included P8-HDBT-P-RX-RS-S 'end-points' (receivers to use the more commonly used phrase) enables 4K/UHD distribution for up to 70m and 100m for 'standard' HD signals (including 3D) over cat6 cabling. The discrete P8-HDBT-P-RX-RS-S 'end-points' are fully PoH meaning that no power is required at your display or AV Receiver - all 'end-points' are powered directly from the matrix itself. These neo Pro end points also support bi-directional IR for routing or sending control signals to displays or sources respectively and being full HDBaseT - they natively will support Ethernet connectivity too (10/100 Ethernet pass through).


You can easily program the matrix to respond to different IR codes, it’s simple to do via the built in web interface. Just point the remote at an IR receiver and press the key. Each key is memorized for you to assign to an account, be it routing video to your display or sending a control message to a connected device. Of course if you don't fancy IR routing and control then remember the matrix and end points support Pulse-Eight's advanced CEC control enabling you to do away with a separate control system altogether if not required - and then you can just use your TV's remote control accordingly.


Building upon this technology the neo modular range like the flagship neo: 4 professional, also benefits from Pule-Eight's 'Instant on' technology. In the UK, Sky (one of the main satellite TV providers) recently added CEC support, the way they did it was pretty interesting (simply press the "Sky" button and your TV turned on and so did the Sky+ HD box) and it gave us an idea, we could do this with neo. With Instant On, press the Sky button in any room and we will detect this, turn the TV on and switch the video path to the Sky+ HD box. But Pulse-Eight have developed this one step further, if you have more than one Sky+ HD box connected to neo then we will intelligently detect which Sky+ HD box is not in use and route this to your TV. Don't worry if you are not in the UK, Instant On can be customised for just about any collection of source devices.


Alongside these hugely intuitive and consumer friendly features is the ability also to introduce 'Scheduled Events'. neo supports more than just reacting to button presses. You can configure your neo modular matrix to turn your TV on at a specific time, or turn it off. View a certain source from 3 till 7 and then something else till 12. It's all possible from within the web interface built into neo. This can be done because as with the neo: 4 series, the modular range also benefits from the inclusion of Pulse-Eight's web interface for control, diagnostics and advanced configuration features. This brilliant feature means you can access neo from any device, be it mobile, tablet or desktop PC and in any browser. We've done this with our responsive design, so it works with you and not the other way round. Our web interface is built directly on top of our REST/API, this means that whatever you can do on your phone, you can get your control system to do also and vice versa. There are no hidden tricks or special codes that require a magic moon dance to work. All of the documentation is free and available on the Pulse-Eight monitoring site.


On this last key note, it's important that your customers get video all the time, and to help us all to do that every neo professional and modular matrix keeps in contact with the Pulse-Eight cloud management service. You can tell if this is working with the Monitored LED on the front of the matrix. If you get stuck, your installer or yourself can log into our cloud portal and see helpful diagnosis information (if you let them), fix problems remotely or tell you where you may have gone wrong in the installation. All of this is free of charge. If neo has a problem, we get alerted too and we can get in contact to arrange a hardware replacement or give you a step by step guide to get you up and running again.


For those installers integrating the Neo range into more sophisticated projects worry not, Pulse-Eight have dedicated drivers available for all major control systems including Control 4, elan g!, RTI and URC. Even if you want to utilise the advanced benefits of the devices CEC commands, all CEC features are exposed in the drivers which allows you to create powerful control experiences.


Britain built and tested, every modular matrix undergoes a rigorous 3 day soak test before despatch, ensuring what you receive is ready for prime time!
